You know when you go to someone else's home to visit and you have to excuse yourself to the bathroom you are sometimes delighted to discover something new you really love and then later buy it for yourself? I'm that person. I am always curious to see what products other people use in their homes and especially items like soap whether it be liquid pump, foam or bar.
I enjoy perusing the soap and lotion sections of stores as I love checking out the different scents and choosing my favorite. The same with body wash and shampoo but that's another post another day.
So this latest shopping trip I checked out the soaps they had at Cost Plus World Market. If you're a big fan of that store like I am check out my other latest post here.
So most days I like the easy convenience of liquid soap because I'm usually in a hurry but I also love bar soaps because usually the scent is better, the probably come wrapped in really pretty packaging that is feminine and girlie so I feel pampered and plus they are usually much more moisturizing than liquid soap that tends to dry out my skin.
Check out these from Cost Plus... how could you not resist? Personally if I still had a massive bathroom counter top like I used to in my old home I would dress it up with a variety of tall glass canisters and fill some with seashells and some with these pretty wrapped soaps for display until I was ready to use them. Because I am of the mindset that we can use pretty simple every day things to decorate our homes and not spend a fortune. Money can be used on experiences with our loved ones not the latest decorating trend or redo.
I adore anything with lady bugs and butterflies and these of course have both! The packaging is so pretty.... can't you just picture a huge claw foot tub with a window view over looking a garden and using these soaps in a bubble bath? Sounds perfect. I love the detailing on the paper, the little tie of jute string and the scents were amazing... so summery and light. Imagine putting a small bowl out for guests staying overnight and having these in it for them... or gifting for a bridal shower, new mommy gift basket, birthday bag for your closet girlfriends with a bottle of wine or just a sweet surprise for your tween or teen daughter. I love giving gifts and I'm always on the lookout for new ideas for gifting.
It's funny how over time our preferences and scents we like can change... years ago I would have immediately liked the gardenia pictured but I noticed this time I gravitated toward the cucumber melon and really loved it. Plus who could resist those precious watermelons on the packaging? Too sweet.
However hands down after sniffing nearly every one of these divine soaps I finally decided this was by far my favorite... the Papaya Guava which smells absolutely amazing... I really wanted to bottle up this and spray it all over my house... or roll in a lotion version of it... it smells that good. Which one is your favorite? I enjoyed creating this post and hope you found some joy in it.
